I'm still working on that video. It's taking so long because I keep scrapping footage that I'm not happy with. I'll probably make an update soon and dump some new scrapped content.

Because zombies weren't enough of a menace, now we have a giant Zoey! SFM is capable of some incredible things, really, maybe one day I could give it a try... I need some free time, though. xD

Oh my muffins, when this is finished I'm going to be inside for a loooong time.

This is really great! Zoey always was my favourite L4D character! :D

I've always wondered how model posing works in SFM. Can you manually resize the model in the program, or do you actually have to have a resized model that you can load into it?
PS3_HAS_NO_GAMES 8/22/2013 8:55:43 PM Rating: 0

Sadly there's no resizing built into the source engine. In this image the shrunken people were greenscreened in. Source model resizing is honestly one of the most frustrating things ever.

Hey PS3, I've been trying to resize some SFM models myself. How far did you get? No matter what model or method I use the damn compiler keeps bugging out the facial rigging.
PS3_HAS_NO_GAMES 8/22/2013 11:06:20 PM Rating: 0

Never got far at all. Kept getting errors when recompiling and gave up on it. Greenscreens take more time but atleast they work.
Hazal 8/22/2013 11:46:08 PM Rating: 2

Gah, that sucks. Well, I'm nothing if not persistent; want me to give you a shout if I figure it out some how?
PS3_HAS_NO_GAMES 8/23/2013 12:44:39 AM Rating: 2

Yes please. It would be so useful to have some really small vehicle and people models.
DarkZero567 8/23/2013 1:58:35 AM Rating: 2

Awesome! Still cant wait to see the whole video whenever you finish it!

This is amazing! i've been eagerly awaiting since seeing your update video a few months ago, its great to see you are continuing your work
smith523 8/28/2013 6:45:48 AM Rating: 0

Where did you get this model?
CorneliusEdmondII 9/5/2013 9:39:57 PM Rating: 0

Okay, so I've theorized a way to correctly resize models and have them keep their facial rigging, but it requires whoever is doing this to decompile the model completely, load it up into an actual 3D modeling program (Maya or Blender is reccommended), and then manually resize everything inside of the program. After that, you need to recompile the model using one of the newest model compilers, and the facial rigging should remain intact.

Another thing to note is the possible replacement of SMD files to compile models and using DMX files instead.

Of course, this is all theory, and I'm not entirely sure it would work.
Hazal 9/19/2013 3:40:52 PM Rating: 0

@Cornelius This is the method I was trying to work with. Unfortunately I sold my gaming rig (no time in college), so I don't have a PC with enough horsepower to dick with it more.

So you're definitely on the right track (from what I've found, anyways), but I ran into trouble with Blender right away. All I could discern is that for whatever reason Blender breaks the model down into 4-5 files (which does make sense) but is only able to scale 3-4 of them (which doesn't), thus leading to the model having *no* face rigging. I personally used Blender instead of Maya because Blender had some easy addons for importing/exporting SFM files.

Good luck to anyone who picks up this cause!
