Nice, it got in! Thanks to Minecraftdubstep for inspiring me to finally start work on some of the pictures I'd set aside, and also for alerting me that something like gimp exists. Yay, free software!

I'd really appreciate any critiques for this work. My own immediate observation is that the lighting of the city seems to clash with the lighting on Fey's body and stops it from blending in with the picture. I didn't really bother trying to work with the light because I have no idea how to do shading-type stuff yet. :(

Yeah your observation is pretty much the main critique I got for this collage mate. Because the city clashed with her body I ranked it as low quality (though maybe that was too excessive : d)

But yeah, the model, concept and caption story are all excellent so I hope you continue and manage to get better :)

Yeah, i figured if I just used a hot enough model then no one could complain no matter how poor my editing. :)

Seriously though, the rating is fair enough. I'm actually really glad you ranked it low, that's what made me look at it more critically myself. Initially, I was just happy I'd figured out layers! XD

Anything other than the lighting that anybody thinks makes the city clash? I blurred the edges a bit, which helped mitigate that copied/pasted look, but that's about as clever as I'm getting right now... throw a n00b a bone!

It's a well made picture :P There is really no way around the blurry edges with gimp unless you're a pro, so yeah :c You're definitely doing way better than I am with editing xD

Koto- other than the light which you already mentioned.
Perhaps the perspective could be better.
Image the angle of the surface the city is on, and the angle you see the city at.
Perhaps the city would be better visually on be other side of her body.
But then she wouldn't be looking at it... It's a hard call.
Good going though! Keep at it ;)
Red.

Thanks, guys!

Perhaps I'll try it again at some point, maybe with a different city. Perhaps from a slightly different angle? Perhaps a picture of a city closer to dusk? (Or maybe I'll just zoom in with the dodge tool and try to hit the major shadows...) I just submitted a series and I swear I spent more time looking for pictures of boats that might work than I did editing anything!

And, Minecraft, I'm choosing my material VERY carefully so as to avoid some of the more technically difficult things you've been doing. As long as it's just pasting the micros in to the bigger picture I can do it, but you won't see me attempting a mega-giantess going through a city any time soon! :)
