I know this answer is a bit late but here goes. I personally like it quite much. I watched around 400+ episodes until I turned to manga, which is a bit further in the story than anime (duh!). I really like its humor and those moments when the main character busts his enemies, not just with brawn, but with brain also. Even though he's dumb like Goku. Also he's not almighty. He will encounter enemies way stronger than him.
About the giantess parts: There have been some giant women in the series but they come in the late episodes (around 300 I guess?). The giant mermaid is "Shirahoshi" if you want to "research" ;). There has also been few marine giantess but they don't show much and a island with amazon women. Some of them are bigger.
After the episode in anime which presented a sizeshifting giantess with Mini-Mini fruit, I am quite certain that Oda Eichiiro is among us in the giantess fandom. "Lily Enstomach" for research.
