Ah that's a shame. One jerk ruins it for everyone. I enjoyed cleaning up/editing some tags or mistags. Thanks for the info

Hi Mark, it's been a really long time.

Anyways, does this mean that if I want to add a tag to an image after its been uploaded now, I'll have to post something in the comments section of an image, or do I private message a moderator, or can users apply to get special permission to add or subtract tags.

I mean, user editing should be like how it's done on Wikipedia, where one user causes trouble, and only they are locked out of the editing software, not all of the users!

for now people have to comment or PM a mod in order to suggest tags. The site was attacked recently where someone setup a rotating IP that was creating bot users in order to spam comments and downvotes, plus adding spam tags. Therefore our old system of simply banning a user or IP didn't work because they were being constantly created.

So if some sort of captcha or perhaps manual account activation is added to the process of registering a new account, would that block bot programs that use numerous different IP adresses?
I was gonna check how the registration process works now so I don't suggest things that are already implemented, but I noticed that account creation was actually fully disabled.
