I always wonder why they never try modifying missiles into flying hypodermic needles carrying a poisonous payload when a giant monster attacks.

Destruction girl and monsters vs. aliens both did that with anesthetic.

She's a princess! Hence, diplomatic immunity. You don't go around shooting up foreign dignitaries with hypodermic needles and not get into all kinds of trouble. At least that's how it works in Celebrity Crush, which admittedly isn't exactly realistic.

"Probably because, contrary to macrophile and kaiju enthusiast portrayal, explosive munitions would be pretty damn effective against a large organic being. "Thick skin" has nothing on the type of materials they were intended to be used against."

I've thought about that, and I've always wanted to see a story that tried to be realistic about that kind of thing and went from there. I was going to try to be relatively realistic in the war scenes in Pax Romana: Not even a 60-foot woman will be able to take a catapult to the face and walk away unscathed. And even tiny spears, arrows, etc could take their toll in large enough numbers. So even giantesses would want to wear armor in a battle...

@Redfiredog: giantesses, and kaiju for that matter, would do a lot better in antiquity than they would in modern times. Hell they would probably have significant advantages all the way up until cannons that used shells.

I believe that spear and arrows could do damage but there would also be tactics the giant could adopt that would negate there effectiveness. Like simply charging into there ranks and forcing them to disperse. Though, that is not to say that it would be impossible for a well organized ancient force to take a giantess down.

This giantess is straight up evil though and if she were really doing all that damage, no amount of diplomatic immunity would have her.

Diplomatic Immunity...

A-10 Warthog pilot: Its just been revoked...

I do agree with time period and that is likely why many traditional stories with giants take place in older times. Because even WW2 era technology would be devastating and modern weapons would just obliterate any giant or giantess.

Simple get a m1128 stryker. It will rip through the big evil girls soft flesh. It kinda makes me mad when a like a 100 ft target can bounce shells that were made for punching through thick stuff.

So you're saying they should kill a beautiful young princess just because she mercilessly slaughtered a few hundred thousand people? Have a heart, man!

We did have a heart, Hers right in the crosshair of a Javelin Missile.
