I think it's just becomes a matter of where you want to draw the line for suspension of disbelief, which is where my half-snarky first post came from.
I mean, we've also thoroughly established that we're already flying in blatant disregard of physics and biology as we know them, solely on the basic size premise. Why not go all out throw in some functional invincibility too?
Or maybe that just takes it too far for some. *shrug* As subjective as anything, I guess.
