Anyone but her! That was your first thought as you saw your rival appear as a giantess above you.

It had taken years of research, sleuthing and adventuring to reach this moment. Your search had started when you read an old book on the Greek gods as a child. In it Ambrosia was mentioned - the food of the gods. It was said to be able to heal the sick, and give the healthy godly powers. You'd been fascinated with the idea of it ever since - the search for it shaped your entire life, dictating what you studied at college, your career and even how you spent your free time.

You had many adventures along the way in the years afterwards, raiding ancient tombs and exploring forgotten ruins. You picked up friends and lost them too during these escapades. And of course you picked up a rival along the way. She was simply known as The Lady - a cat burglar who used her looks to get in wherever she wanted. She'd crossed paths with you many times on your travels, often racing to beat you to some artifact or clue to the whereabouts of the Ambrosia. She was as obsessed with the food of the gods as you, you could have made a great team - but her underhand tactics, debauchery and lack of ethics made her impossible to work with.

You hadn't seen her lately which was good - you were getting near and didn't want her snaking out the end goal from your hands. You'd found a source claiming the Ambrosia was said to be stored in an ancient cathedral in England. This was it - you knew it. It fit all the other clues you'd found over the years saying the goblet containing what you sought had been taken by crusaders back to their homeland.

You'd travelled to England as fast as you could and had booked in to a nearby hotel. Your journey had been long so you planned a good night's sleep before heading to the cathedral early in the morning to retrieve your prize. You locked away the decoded source and went to bed, but on awaking the next morning you knew something was wrong straight away. The safe was wide open with a rose placed inside - The Lady's calling card. She must have been following you at a distance for a while, damn it! And now she had the exact location of the Ambrosia, double damn it!

You ran straight out of the hotel and flagged down the first taxi you saw, offering to pay anything to be taken to the cathedral as quickly as possible. The closest place the driver could drop you off was on the riverbank opposite the cathedral - there were no roads onto the ancient island where it sat. You were preparing to swim across in the vain hope that you weren't too late to keep the food of the gods out of her hands when a shiver ran up your spine.

"Too late sweetie" came the voice inside your head - it was her.

You saw the air above the cathedral shimmer and there she appeared - massive, naked and glorious.

"Thanks for showing me where to find the Ambrosia." she said, this time out loud rather than in your head - but her size meant that her voice still rang through your skull.

You found you couldn't move - were you paralysed with fear or was she using her new found power to do this to you?

She caressed the tower of the cathedral between her mighty fingers, "To think - ultimate power was hidden right here all these years - just waiting for someone to embrace it."

You felt yourself being lifted into the air and brought slowly towards your giant rival by an invisible force.

"By the way, it tasted delicious in case you were wondering." she told you with a smirk as you drifted towards her mouth, "And now I quite fancy desert."

You could do nothing but stare in awe as you approached her. You reflected on how you had gotten into this mess. If you hadn't obsessed about finding the ambrosia, if you had only found something else to fill your life with, then your rival would never had gotten hold of it. She was absolutely worst person to have the power of the gods - and you had handed it to her on a platter.

Meta: I was going to be lazy with this one and just let the awesome shot of Lady Ginger Lust sell the collage by placing her behind the horizon with no interaction with the scenery. But when I was placing her I found her hand was in the right pose and place to make it look like she was gripping one of the towers. Originally she was gripping one of the foremost towers, but then that didn't make sense given her leg was behind the other tower and hand was resting on her leg - so I switched to her to holding the furthest tower and that did the trick.

I remember ambrosia being a big deal in Xena: Warrior Princess. I'm sure Xena's rival gets hold of it randomly and eats it, becoming a goddess. But all I remember her doing once she ascended was occasionally shooting lighting, setting stuff on fire and being a lot tougher for Xena to beat up. I was worried Xena would have met her match given she was her equal before getting given supposedly unlimited power - but in the end defeating her was super-easy, barely an inconvenience.
