You were sceptical when the first reports of a Goddess washing up on the beach came in - but now you could see for yourself that she was real.
Your work investigating the historical artefacts on the islands off the coast meant you were always flying a helicopter back and forth from the mainland. Today as you headed home you'd heard the first reports of the colossal woman coming in. On hearing the first report you figured it was some drunk who'd come across another whale washed ashore. As the next few came in you wrote it off as a joke between the operators. But as more and more reported the sighting you had to admit it seemed likely that there was something of interest washed ashore. Your route home didn't take you far from the beach so you decided to take a detour and see.
As you approached, you wondered what it could be on the beach people were claiming was a gigantic woman. Your bet was on a statue of some sort. The monuments you'd been inspecting recently all showed evidence of some ancient society that lived out on the islands and worshipped an unknown Goddess. You figured it was likely that the object on the beach could be a huge depiction of her. Whoever the ancient people on the islands had been they were very good stone-carvers and painters - if it had been preserved just right it could look like a real woman from a distance.
But as you approach and she came into view you knew she was real. The statues on the islands were good, but not this good. She was laid out, mostly in the water but her head resting on the sand, and unmoving. But the heaving of her enormous breasts as she breathed not only gave away that she was real - but also alive.
The beach was busy with people watching the giantess laying there - most too scared to get close. As you looked down on her you felt something primal well up in you, some sort of desire to worship her with your whole being. Was this the Goddess the islanders had worshipped? Had she taught them their skills in masonry and decorating - elevating them far above many of the other tribes of humanity at the time? If so, was she here to elevate humanity once more?
You wondered how she got here. You mulled over the possibility of some uncharted island full of giants out at sea, but in the age of satellites surely that couldn't be the case. Maybe her world lay beneath the sea, some sort of massive cavern deep down? Or perhaps she lived in another realm, and crossed into our plane through some sort of rift hidden in the ocean?
Many things about this giantess were unknown - but one thing was certain; she was a superior being of some sort. Not only was her size immense, but her beauty was outstanding. When you first discovered the various depictions of the ancient islander's Goddess, you'd theorised she was a representation of fertility given her exaggerated curves. Those depictions didn't come close to the curvature of the woman sprawled out beneath you. Beneath her curves lay well defined muscles, indicating a strength which at her size was hugely intimidating. She put humanity to shame just by existing.
Lost in thought you'd brought the helicopter closer to the Giantess, and to your shock her eyes shot open - the sound of the blades must have awoken her. You pulled up and away as the enormous woman blinked several times.
"Is that a helicopter?" she blurted, her loud voice rocking your craft in the air.
You were in shock. Not just from her sudden awakening, but from the fact she spoke English. You'd expected her to use one of the sophisticated ancient languages spoken on the islands. But as you thought on it you realised it made sense, she was a Goddess - language shouldn't be a problem for her.
"Wait, am I big?" the giantess asked before running her hands up and down her enormous body - stopping to rub her gigantic breasts, "Ffffuuuck yes!"
You were starting to review your theories on who this giantess was as you watched her look to her left and right at the tiny crowd building around her.
"Holy shit, this is so fucking cool!!" she snorted before fixing her eyes back on your helicopter hovering above and giggling at you, "Hello up there!"
You took the opportunity of her addressing you to start a dialogue and get some answers. You switched on the speakers.
"Erm, Hi!" you began, "Do you mind answering a few questions?"
The giantess nodded in response. You had lots of questions but started with the one which had been bothering you longest, "Where are you from?"
"Miami!" came the short and surprising reply.
"Miami.. Florida?" you queried to confirm.
The giantess nodded again, "Yup, born and bred."
"You mean you're not some elder being here to usher in days of peace and plenty?"
"Fuck no, what does that even mean? I'm a stripper dude!"
"What?"
The giantess pointed to her body, "Yeah, isn't it obvious?"
"Oh..." was all you could manage to reply.
"You sound disappointed."
"I thought you were some sort of Goddess, here to take control of humanity and guide us to to a better future."
"I'm afraid not, sorry dude."
You could see the giantess smirk at your theory, before going into deep thought as if what you'd said had rung a bell with her.
You'd lost some of your momentum but still wanted to push on.
"How did you get so big?" was your next question over the speakers.
The giantess launched into a story, "Well, I was on this party boat right? And this shady guy offered me some pill saying it would increase my bust - as if! Well, I was about to take it, then the boat started to tip. Turns out that sleazeball had given some of them pills to one of the other girls there earlier - and she was getting real big. Well, it wasn't long until there was water everywhere! I decided to take what he'd given me as we went down."
"So you could get big and survive?"
The Giantess smirked again, "To be honest I hadn't thought about that, I just wanted to get high one last time. I passed out as the ship sank, but looks like things worked out."
Size changing drugs? You admitted to yourself that it made more sense than your ancient Goddess theory. Unfortunately this revelation made a lot of the questions you had lined up moot, but a new one had formed in your mind.
"Wait, so there's others like you?"
"Other strippers?"
"Giants."
"Giant strippers? Probably, turns out that guy was handing out those pills like they were candy."
So there were likely more giant airheads like her? You realised this could prove to be a real danger if they got any delusions of grandeur into their heads....
As you thought about the consequences of a set of giant strippers washing up along the shoreline you noticed the giantess was lost in thought too.
Suddenly she broke from her meditation and asked you a question, "You know... what you said about me being a ruler of humanity?"
Uh oh, you knew where this was likely going and tried to nip her train of thought in the bud, "I didn't mean ruler, I just meant you might be a guide to..."
"Well..." she interrupted you, "There's no better guide than a ruler... after all, you have no choice but to follow them."
As she said this you watched as the giantess started to get to her feet.
Little did you know at the time that you were witnessing the first of humanity's new Goddesses rising up.
Meta: I've seen a few collagers do something like this where its an aerial shot of a giantess laying on a shoreline. I always wondered how they did it as it seems so tricky. I think I may have worked it out now with this experiment - the waves on an aerial shot of a beach prove to be a good point to blend in an overhead shot of model laying in water. I probably should have got a source picture without big pebbles beneath the water which slightly ruins the effect but I couldn't pass over the chance to use this shot of Leanne.
The story is inspired by an episode of Love, Death and Robots (if you've seen it you'll know which one I mean). I don't like using the term Goddess in my writing unless the story specifically calls for it. My religious upbringing yells in my ear, calling me sacrilegious for deeming something unorthodox to be God. But does being big make you Godly? Is there a difference between being Godly and 'just' having Godly powers? I thought it'd be interesting exploring how someone can both be considered a Goddess by one measure but not by others. Sure, she's big and powerful - but does she care for humanity or have a long term plan for them? Do you need those things to be considered a God?
My interpretation after exploring the theme when writing this is as follows: We use the term Goddess a lot in the size change community but I think it often means something different from a true religious being. A Goddess, when in the context of a size-related story, is normally someone with Godly power and appearance, but is not necessarily a creator or preserver of mythos (unless the story explicitly says so). In all of my stories so far I've certainly never written a giantess intended to be a religious God. Anyway, that's my TED talk on why I shouldn't be sent to hell for creating sacrilegious Goddesses.
