Everyone tried to ignore the changes Yuu was going through.
Her late growth had caught everyone in the group of friends off guard. She'd always been the butt of all the short jokes - but all that changed when she showed up for their meet up after work one day taller than even Josh.
Each time they met up she was even bigger than before, often showing up in tattered work clothes that she'd clearly burst out earlier in the day. The group tried to raise it with her but all she said on the matter was that she was aware of what was happening to her and for them not to worry. After that it had become the rather large elephant in the room.
The group didn't want to exclude her so moved their meet-ups to the rooftop of their apartment, Soon they were having to climb onto the highest part of the roof, and Yuu was having to kneel down to keep up the charade of her being included.
Ignoring her increasing size wasn't too difficult - it was the hungry stare she started fixing them with most evenings which was beginning to unsettle them.
The dynamic changed one evening when the group were talking about their favorite foods. Josh made a crack about wanting to eat whatever Yuu was having before turning to her and finding himself the sole target of her stare. As soon as he felt her large eyes fixed on him, he felt a fear he'd never encountered before. Too terrified to run he turned slowly back to his friends with a fake smile on his face in an attempt to not provoke her.
Under his breath he whispered to Ashley, "Is she still staring at me?"
Ashley slowly nodded, before trying to diffuse whatever this situation was.
"Hey Yuu." Ashley shouted up to her gigantic friend "You never said what your favorite food is, I know it was spaghetti-Os when we were little but what about now?"
The distraction failed and Yuu's staring at Josh continued.
"Yuu?" Ashley tried, some fear creeping into her voice.
"God, you're so small... and weak..." murmured Yuu almost in a trance.
The group froze, all of them poised to run and scatter - but thankfully Yuu seemed to return to her senses.
"Oh, sorry about that." she jovially declared, as if unaware of what she just said, "Sorry - all this talk of food was making me feel hungry. I've had nothing to eat since I clocked off."
"Oh - hahaha." Josh laughed nervously, the rest of the group following suit.
Soon the moment passed and the group were back to their conversation and joking around. But it was clear to all of them that something about Yuu was changing, in addition to her size - and things weren't ever going to be the same again...
Meta: If the growth is slow. when does the giantess realise their power? Maybe their power-madness grows slowly too along with their size - or maybe it takes a moment of realisation to happen? Or maybe it doesn't have to happen at all... (yeah - as-if!)
