In the source, he admits he used an old doodle for this. He's capable of better things, but I can understand him: some of us like to make less worked pictures that, still, have their charm, just for making them. And then going back to something better. :P
This time he hasn't outdone himself, but it's better than anything I'll draw in a long time.
