If that is true (I'm not checking the kickstarter everyday lol) then pray more people donate ALOT more money then. But just because one day is really good doesn't mean the rest will be that fruitful as well.

Also Joe tip for you. If you know those people that say they are willing to donate alot of money, tell them to donate now not later. People tend to donate more money the closer the kickstarter is to achieving its goal. But make sure to tell them that they are risking on losing that money if the kickstarter fails.

As someone who is on kickstarter regularly I can safety say Joe that "Kickstarters get most of their money in the last days" is pretty false. Normally with kickstarter, the people that dish out alot of money tend to do it in the first few weeks. Not the last couple days. Sure it has happened before where a kickstarter is almost at its goal with barely any days left the a person or two might roll out alot of cash to get the kickstarter over the hump and work. But with the amount of money raised so far and the amount of days left, even if some people drop a few G's, its still most likely not gonna work (unless someone drops 10 G's lol). And unfortunately rooster if this con fails now and they try to redo the kickstarter at some other point, the chances are people donating will be lower most likely. People will be hesitant to donate to a kickstarter that has failed in the past. Sorry to sound like a downer everybody but this is just from everything that I have seen/experienced. :/

To bad its most likely not gonna get past the kickstarter phase. only 16-14 days left and only has raised barely half if I recall.

Dude, the guy just probably took the image from google and photoshoped the guy in. Unless you mean the women and not the artist, then probably. But does it matter?

Rooster 1) The cringe I mean is for the people in the con. I never even thought about the people walking by the convention because who cares about them? lol 2) A simple meet up is way cheaper then an entire convention. Anti-social people tend to make excuses to not show up where there will be alot of people (I would know, I'm pretty anti-social myself). With a meet up, its way cheaper and the person can just show up. For a convention, that's alot of money to spend on something he/she is not comfortable with. (Also I'm just guessing but I am just guessing that those anti-social people that did show up to that meet up you mention, most of the probably lived in New York.) 3) ....Waffles (>^-^)># 4)Everything I wrote came from the kickstarter page or talking to the people running the convention. Are they still assumptions, sure. But I don't just write things that Ik nothing about. I did my research and every thin I wrote are at the very least logical guesses. And never assume anything, sure most likely there will be more stuff there to do but until they tell us what more there will be to do, its just assumptions. 5) Just because you don't feel alienated doesn't mean others won't be. Sure, most likely there will be a lot more artists there to help fill that void but until they list who will be there---> Once again, assumptions 6) You think that, I think that. But you know for a fact that a lot of people will be going to the convention not thinking about it, get there and be pissed off because there will be mainly men there. 7) As somebody who has been on Kickstarter hundreds of times. I can probably safely say from the amount of money raised to the time left, unless somebody drops 10G's .... this Kickstarter will fail. :/ 8) Even though I do agree with everything you said here, its not about how big our community is as a whole. Its about how many in our community is willing to drop that amount of cash for plane tickets, hotel tickets, convention tickets, food, and gifts. That's not even including the Kickstarter for the convention itself. And even though it is in New York, I doubt anyone out of the country will attend cause that will be even more money for over sea's plane tickets. Hey, if you or anyone else is excited for this convention, go for it. I'm not saying don't be if you are. The only reason I wrote all that was cause most people are way to excited to think about the negatives, which sad to say there are a lot with this convention in particular. I just want people to not get to over excited and drop a lot of cash on something that may fail or succeed and then not like the convention cause its not what they thought it would be. The only positive I am seeing from all this is meeting the people. But you can do that anyway if your really wanted to and you don't need to spend money on convention tickets and a kickstarter. Just saying.
